A Place to REST (Fundraising Documentary for a comprehensive homeless services agency)

Description: A Place to REST puts REST’s life saving mission into perspective as Men’s Shelters on the North Side of Chicago are disappearing. REST was founded in 1979 when a homeless man froze to death in a dumpster and neighbors’ vowed to never let it happen again…But it did on Christmas Day  2008 just blocks from a shelter when there was no room for him.

Role: Co-Writer/Co-Producer/Director

“When Joyce’s documentary was shown at our Annual Dinner the audience was moved. It was suddenly clear that homelessness in Chicago is a matter of life or death. They understood the plight of homeless people on a deeper level and dug more deeply into their pockets…Joyce Fox has been an essential part of our communications and media relations in good times and bad and has consistently come through for us.”                         -Michael O’Hara, REST Board President

"Making the boring interesting and the interesting fascinating."
