Peoples Church: Rebranding, Community Outreach, Event and Public/Media Relations Campaign

Description: This campaign for the activist Peoples Church included rebranding (new logo and cutline-upper left), community outreach, a multi-faceted event, print collateral (poster, postcard and press release) and a public/media relations effort.

The program was funded by a joint grant from the Unitarian Universalist Association and the United Church of Christ. A multi-faceted event was coordinated where a church service and sermon on “True Forgiveness” was followed by an Open House with refreshments and mingling. Then a screening of the controversial award-winning documentary “Forgiving Dr. Mengele” was followed by a question and answer session with the filmmakers.

Then a targeted PR/Media blitz contacting outlets from newspapers and broadcast stations to hanging posters and leaving postcards as table ads or direct mail was aggressively pursued in Uptown and surrounding neighborhoods. Even local businesses publicized the event on their LED signs.
